Chalk cliffs and five different kinds of nerve

East Sussex runs along the south coast of England. Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings face the Channel, and the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head stand between them. The contrast in this county's directory comes from its people. On one side are the performers: a woman who has had her spell on national television, and another who writes songs late at night with a guitar on her knee. On the other side are the ones who keep it physical. There is a skydiver, a personal trainer and a model who works with photographers along the coast. All five are sexy in completely different ways, and none of them is boring.

The women we know behind East Sussex's favourite pages

#1Lullaby Rose: The Freefall Stoic

Skydiving is her idea of a good weekend. People who know her say she is as funny and approachable on the ground as she is fearless in the air. She has a stoic streak too, and lives by a line about pain being inevitable, suffering being optional and every ending being a new beginning. Her page is sultry and direct. It is built on paid one-to-one messaging, with photos and videos made on request. She doesn't do live video calls. Anyone who sends a gift from her wishlist gets a personal thank-you video back. On the site she carries the Asian, tattooed and black hair labels.

#2Miss Michael: The Fringe Regular with a Quest Book

Television got there first. Miss Michael has had her moment on a national channel, and plenty of viewers still wish she would come back. These days she designs made-to-order adventure quests, promotes comedy part-time and turns up at the Edinburgh Fringe even in years when she isn't on stage. Brighton is home. A hula hoop on the seafront counts as a plan, and Seaford's beach and the odd festival weekend add variety. Her charm is sunny and playful, all colour and joie de vivre. She offers custom photos and videos of her feet.

#3Jessica Heartless: The Midnight Songwriter with a Stubborn Cat

Music, mischief and midnight: that is the whole manifesto. Jessica Heartless writes songs and plays guitar, and she is alt and emo through and through. She is also quick to laugh at herself. She swears she used to be cool, and every so often offers proof that she does go outside and know people. A ginger tabby runs the house and ignores her completely. She is gothic and moody, yet sweet and cheeky underneath. She is on a break from new material for now.

#4Maddie Rose🌹: The Trainer Who Works Smarter

A personal trainer since 2019, Maddie Rose🌹 lives by a simple rule: work smarter, not harder. Brighton is home, and on summer days the sea is her second gym. A cat shares her selfies, a portrait project with local photographers keeps her in front of the lens, and Porto has drawn her away at least once. She is confident, strong and cheeky, and carries the gym and twerking labels. Her page offers solo videos and custom requests, and every tip and renewal gets a reward.

#5Rachel: The Eastbourne Model with Her Own Mood Board

Eastbourne is home for Rachel, and the camera follows her along the coast. She does glamour sets in her own town and black and white boudoir sessions in Brighton, with photographers who keep asking her back. Her motto is that her only competition is herself. A bottomless brunch with her best friend is her idea of a day off. She comes across as glamorous, polished and quietly sultry.

What the county's favourites have in common

The popular pages in East Sussex go for pages that move and faces with ink. Videos feature on 55% of the favourites, versus 33% of all county pages. Tattoos, blonde hair and solo work are also more common with the favourites than in the wider listing. The favourites charge a little above the county norm, and their fans clearly don't mind. Here, people pay for personality on camera rather than for a bargain, and the creators with something to say about their lives off the page are the ones they stick with.
