Small Towns, Long Itineraries

Connecticut sits on Long Island Sound. City size favours Bridgeport, New Haven and Stamford; Connecticut's capital is Hartford. Some keep their lives close to home: a self-styled reaper dancing under club lights in Southington, an artist redrawing book covers in New Milford, and a fan of the Brooklyn fair who stays until the gates shut. Others use Connecticut as their starting point. Texas marks the end of their training tours; they also visit Los Angeles studio sets, and one is clearly happier on a Hill Country lake than the Sound.

Despite 634 creator listings in the state, the busy end consists of a small, opinionated group. The front of the page mixes bodybuilders, bookbinders and gentle goddesses. They live very different lives and share a taste for doing things their own way.

A Needle, a Brief and a Goddess or Two

Personal attention counts more here than the near-standard ink. Half the popular creators take custom requests (50%), against 16% of everyone listed. That tells you what Connecticut fans pay for. They want a creator who reads the message and makes the thing. The goddess label is almost absent from the wider list, yet it turns up again and again near the top. Our view is that readers in this state like being looked after and don't mind being told what to do. Being blonde helps a little. Having someone who answers helps far more.

Who These Seven Are Between the Sound and the Hill Country

#1★☆KANDY☆★: Leg-Day Decorator Bound for Texas

Rain does not stop leg day for ★☆KANDY☆★, a bodybuilder and cam model whose idea of a full day is quads in a downpour, a batch of custom videos and a fresh coat of paint on the hallway. The decorating is half the joke. She has turned painting into its own cheeky series and admits she does not always stay inside the lines. Her favourite season, autumn, brings Chicago in September, followed in early October by her first Texas trip, taking in Austin and Houston. A bees' nest sent her running with squat-rack gusto, displaying the strength and silliness behind people's affection for her. A free companion page sits beside this one.

#2Christine Marie 💜: Lyra Hobbyist Who Plays Awkward for Laughs

Upside down is where Christine Marie 💜 seems happiest. Aerial hoop is her favourite hobby, and she trains it, along with gymnastic rings, as if gravity were open to negotiation. Her other constant is a gloriously odd sense of humour. She admits she cannot stop the weirdness, and she plays every awkward moment for laughs. Warm and calm with quiet sultriness, she makes requests central to her page, asking readers to message custom ideas directly.

#3Kate Dalia: Two-Coast Porn Star With a Library Card

A porn star with real studio credits, Kate Dalia splits her working year between Los Angeles sets and Connecticut summers, and brings the same glossy, playful confidence to both. She is a bookish tease who jokes about how much can be learned between the covers. She is just as at home by a sunny pool as under blue after-dark light. Arranging work herself leaves bookings with her; she chats individually and accepts commissions. This page is her free front door and is due to close. Her paid page continues under the same name, and the conversation there is hers.

#4𝒸𝒶𝓈𝓈𝒾𝒹𝓎 𝓂ℴℴ𝓃: Fairground Regular With a Captain Levi Crush

Captain Levi from Attack on Titan remains dear to self-confessed nerd 𝒸𝒶𝓈𝓈𝒾𝒹𝓎 𝓂ℴℴ𝓃, whose holy trinity comprises cats, coffee and music. No earlier departure interrupts her summer's finish at Brooklyn fair; she stays until closing day. Her humour is gentle and self-mocking: she is forever sure her hair is about to ruin a photo, and it never does. She is flirty, sweet and unhurried, with plenty of ink and piercings, and her page is a simple, easygoing invitation to enjoy her company.

#5Goddess monica: Hill Country Cook Who Lets Fans Write the Menu

Texas Hill Country holds most of the heart of Goddess monica. She wakes to Lake Travis mornings, stops at traffic lights to admire wildflowers and treats gratitude as a daily habit. She is a serious home cook too. She grills, bakes and writes little odes to her summer menu. Her page shifts towards glamour and gentle command. This goddess wants interaction: she runs contests and lets requests, suggestions and feedback shape what comes next. Sultry, sunny and steady in her faith, she rewards her loyal fans the way she cooks, generously.

#6Hailee Grimm: Nun of Sin on the Southington Stage

There is no real end to spooky season for Hailee Grimm, who describes being sent to reap and plays a Nun of Sin deadpan. That character now has a real stage. She dances at a club in Southington, joking that she had never done it before and turned out rather good at it. Her Connecticut runs from New Haven to Norwich, with the odd night over the state line in Albany. She plays Attila loud and lives by a blunt motto about simply not being horrible. Wicked, cheeky and quick to laugh, she brings gothic glamour with a grin.

#7j: Bookbinder Who Redraws the Classics

Paperbacks go in and keepsakes come out when j gets to work. She once drew dotwork illustrations of first editions. Now she rebinds well-loved novels in hand-drawn hardcovers, from Orwell and Dumas to a gothic V.C. Andrews. Her self-description runs through artist, witch, bookworm and good girl, apparently in a deliberate sequence. Home is New Milford, and October took her art to the Westchester tattoo convention. Kindness, cheek and gentle mischief accompany open messages, extras for tips and accepted custom requests, provided everyone remains polite.
